Principal, Enterprise IT - Silicon Valley

A Principal - Enterprise IT, Silicon Valley for a leading U.S. based investment firm that manages nearly $3 billion in committed capital, investing in its most recent fund capitalized at $750M along with a side car fund of $250M. The private equity investments range from later-stage growth equity through complex structures such as buyouts, take-privates, PIPES and rollups.  

Key Requirements:  

1. 8-12 yrs experience which includes:
a.) VC firm Sr. Associate or Principal level focused on Enteprise IT
OR
b.) VP/Director Business Development, Product Management or Corporate Development at a high profile high tech company or start-up in one of the industries (below.) In this case it is strongly preferred that this individual have some previous VC or related investment experience. But they will also consider individuals who do not have the VC experience as long as they have strong deal, M&A etc. experience inside of an operating company.

2. Industry background in one or more of the following industries: virtualization, storage, open source, cloud computing, networking, security or infrastructure software.

3. Ability to evaluate opportunities across stages of investment.

4. Strong network in technology is desired.

5. Culture fit is very important: highly extroverted personality is essential for this particular firm.

6. Technical undergraduate degree in Engineering or related fields. MBA is desired but not required.

7. Must currently reside in Silicon Valley. No relocations will be considered as it is important to the firm that this person have strong, existing networks already established locally.
